Responsibilities
* Preparation, management and review of provisions and financial disclosures for all domestic and Bermuda Life Insurance Companies, (IFRS, GAAP, NAIC, Bermuda Stat) * Assist with provisions and financial disclosures for non-life companies where needed. * Assist with annual true-ups and cash settlements * Assist with valuation allowance analysis /attribute utilization analysis and tax planning initiatives where applicable. * Assist with transaction analysis and supporting documentation; (ex: Reinsurance Transactions; de-consolidations, etc.) * Assist with annual audits where needed (ex: external, internal, taxing authorities, etc.) * Assist with identification, documentation and execution of key controls over provisioning and compliance processes (SOX & MAR.) **Compliance:** * Assist with preparation and / or review of federal or state income tax compliance. **Automation:** * Assist with transformation and automation of provisions and Forecasting via OneSource Tax Provision Software. * Assist with Global Tax initiatives, where needed
Ideal Candidate
* 0-3 years of accounting, tax or audit (public or private) or other business experience * BS in Accounting required. * Masters in Accounting or Tax a plus. * Insurance Acounting or Tax a plus * Financial Services Accounting or Tax experience a plus * Investment accounting or tax experience a plus * Tax technology experience a plus * External Reporting, federal and state tax income tax experience a plus * CPA or similar designation a plus * Ability to organize time & manage deadlines effectively * Ability to communicate effectively * Expected to collaborate and work as part of a larger team; promote and build a team environment; help to manage resources effectively; be proactive in learning and applying tax and accounting expertise within group & monitor relevant processes for continued improvement and potential risks throughout the year. * Team player and positive attitude a must.
