Summary
The QA Consulting Lead is responsible for planning, leading, and overseeing the quality activities for complex projects/programs. The individual leads, contributes to, and reinforces activities to improve product quality and advance the QA Discipline. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded quality assurance professional with broad experience including project management, business analysis, and/or technical domain knowledge within the Quality Discipline.
Responsibilities
* Plan, lead, and oversee quality activities for complex programs and ultimately accountable for delivered quality * Define and drive quality strategy and innovates quality process improvements that enable efficient delivery and maintenance (examples: new client engagements; product engineering innovations) * Provide thought leadership in regard to quality discipline and strategy (example: test strategy formulation) * Able to recommend and drive cross-organizational quality improvements * React quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business * Oversee testing for large or multiple diverse projects consistently delivering high quality software products and services on time, on budget and to specification * Identifies and implements proactive ways to contribute toward advancement of our offshore partnership **Discipline Advancement:** * Identifies and adopts innovative solutions to problems and develops a plan for roll-out with continuous improvement as goal * Actively shares and promotes the exchange of ideas and best practices and provides training to others across the discipline * Works with and mentors team members with their initiatives / projects. Anticipates the impact that their decisions could have on the broader effort and adjusts accordingly * Seeks opportunities to learn new functionality, insurance content, or general skills that directly correlate to providing a high quality product and actively share newly learned knowledge with others * Advanced ability to create, analyze, and report on quality metrics for distribution / discussion with clients, senior leaders and project teams **Client Engagement:** * Lead client discussions regarding Quality Assurance approach, test strategy & methodology * Develop partnerships with clients’ key quality assurance management * Ensure quality principles are fully integrated into the quality plan at the outset of a project * Be a trusted advisor; recommend and drive collaborative quality approaches * Develop deep client business knowledge; Actively engage with clients to understand their perspectives and experiences. Use this knowledge for the continuous improvement of best practices resulting in improved client satisfaction * Travel on-site to client sites as needed to ensure the above objectives are met
Ideal Candidate
* MS degree with computer science, quality assurance, or related engineering emphasis, or similar BS with relevant industry certifications * Deep expertise in testing and quality assurance processes and methodologies, including experience leading major methodology implementations or improvements * Experience with aspects of project management and business analysis preferred * Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals, including auditors, management, engineering, project management, and QA staff. * Ability to work through complex problems to reach a workable solution * Content expertise in the planning and execution of software testing, including hands-on testing and process improvement experience. Experience with multiple test methodologies and ability to appropriately identify applications for alternative approaches * Demonstrated expertise in innovating solutions to improve testing effectiveness and efficiency of self and others on the team * Experience in supporting internal and external IT and compliance audits, including implementing resulting recommendations
