Summary
This experienced sales position is responsible for understanding the holistic view of the customer (contract, variable and new business), generating new business and managing and/or expanding buyer relationships in connection with direct sales to end-users. Develops IHS presence and brand within assigned customer(s) and market and ensures customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
Responsibilities
**Account Planning** * Understand and build relationships with key influencers within the automotive manufacturers and their TV buying agencies * Understand both internal and external market dynamics affecting performance of each individual OEM * Develop viewpoint on IHS Markit TV activation capability penetration by end client and implement plans to drive deeper penetration * Develops integrated and comprehensive account plans & strategies across products and accounts * Actively contributes to the establishment of budgets and responsible for providing forecast revenue on a quarterly and fiscal year basis **Consultative Selling** * Possess deep understanding of IHS Markit audience analysis, audience activation and measurement capabilities; suggest/recommend audience strategies to both partners and end clients * Influence agency TV buyers to use IHS Markit audiences in both linear and addressable TV * Identify opportunities for non-TV products and refer them to appropriate team members * Embrace a high level of autonomy; define and execute on day-to-day client and ecosystem relationship building * Requires a significant amount of face-to-face customer interaction * Prepares and communicates pricing, proposals, negotiates the terms and conditions of the sale, and closes the final sale **Client Relationship Management** * Build network of client, agency and TV publisher contacts * Keep current with digital market trends, product, industry, and competitive knowledge * Focus on making the end client successful * Work closely with digital execution partners to build positive relationships that drive higher revenues * Build relationships with IHS Markit associates within other sales teams that work with the same client base to accelerate revenue growth * Collaborate daily with IHS Markit product teams
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, or business field with at least seven years business-to-business direct consultative selling experience or equivalent combination of education and experience * Business to business experience essential * Prior experience in selling an supporting services in the automotive industry * Prior experience working in a TV delivery, buying or planning role * Ability to work independently and be a self-starter; able to operate in a less/unstructured role and manage own day-to-day activities * Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships * Proven negotiation, communication, customer service and presentation skills * Ability to anticipate and handle difficult customer situations * Experience using a database or software application * Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Proven track record in achieving sales targets, acquiring new business, selling broad-based solutions; proficiency in solution selling techniques **Other Requirements** Frequent travel to customer sites and/or trade shows.
