Summary
The Asia-Pacific Economics team within the Economic and Country Risk unit at IHS is seeking an enthusiastic junior economist to help support the group’s deliverables in the areas of economic analysis, forecasting, and country risk assessment.
Responsibilities
- Provide economic and risk analyses for several Asian countries - Model and forecast macroeconomic conditions for these countries - Contribute to monthly and quarterly outlook and risk publications - Provide same-day analysis of major economic news - Author special reports on topics of interest - Respond to internal and external client inquiries - Interact and coordinate with other regional, data, and analytical groups within IHS - Support the firm's commercial expansion through analytical support and potential client presentations
Ideal Candidate
* A Master’s Degree in Economics or Finance. * Some prior relevant work experience, whether in a commercial or academic setting, is preferred but not required with appropriate degree and demonstrated subject matter expertise. * The candidate will have strong analytical proficiency and excellent communication skills (written as well as verbal). * Fluency in English is required; familiarity with a regional language is a plus. * Strong command of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint is expected. * Solid quantitative skills and familiarity with EViews is preferred.
