Summary
Supervise and provide a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for all guests by consistently monitoring pool and deck activity and enforcing safety rules. Responsible for opening and closing duties, safety checks, and performing first aid care as needed. Secondary responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining the decks and pools and providing information beneficial to guest satisfaction by up selling resort facilities and services.
Responsibilities
* Actively seek opportunities to provide excellent guest service and provide information beneficial to guest satisfaction by up selling resort facilities and services. Prevent injuries and eliminate hazards, recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations and operate all slide towers in a safe manner. * Politely and consistently enforce all deck, pool and slide rules * Clean and maintain decks, pools, tables, chairs and umbrellas. Maintenance and cleaning duties assigned by your supervisor. E.g. towel light chemical cleaning, sweeping and trash pick-up. * Perform safety inspections prior to and during operation. * Maintain CPR and rescue skills for internal and external testing. Participate in scheduled in-service training on land and in water. Keep certifications current. * Use personal protective equipment when dealing with potentially infectious bodily fluids. * Complete all reports legibly. **Supervisory Responsibilities** * This position works closely with resort employees as well as quests and owners on a daily basis. * Pool attendant supervisors must correct unsafe behaviors in a positive and friendly way, using initiative and creativity. * Assign personnel to positions, train new pool attendants, fill positions and assist with breaks if necessary
Ideal Candidate
* Effectively communicate in English for business and safety reasons * Show competency in water by completing a simple pre-hiring swim test to include, 500- yard continuous swim using breast stroke and or front crawl. * Surface dive to a depth of 6 ft to retrieve a 10 pound brick and return with the object. * Certification of deep water safety skills, first aid and CPR required. Training may be given on site. * Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. * Carries out any reasonable request by management of which the employee is capable of performing. * Should have a minimum at least (3) months of pool attendant experience or equivalent and should **Education and/or Experience** * Water safety, guest service or custodial experience preferred. **Certificates, Licenses, Registrations** * Current nationally recognized lifeguard certification preferred or current
