Bag Line Machine Operator

* Responsibilities include operation and adjustment of bag line equipment. * Loads machine with materials as needed, ensures steady flow of production and reports machine malfunctions to supervisor or foreman. * Conducts various tests on bags produced using various instruments and testing methods.

* Must be able to operate various equipment located in bag line operations as assigned. * Must demonstrate above average work performance which includes a positive attitude, excellent communication and must maintain the work performance standards as set by management in order to retain classification. * Will be responsible for the complete operation, including proper lock-out/tag-out, loading adjusting and troubleshooting when machine is not producing quality product of said machines. * Will communicate verbally and keep written log/records of equipment downtime, production notes and shift turnovers with Line Lead. * Will make minor adjustments to equipment using basic hand tools and will be assigned to minor tasks on equipment such as independent change-overs in addition to normal operation. * Expected to give specific operational feedback to mechanics on equipment issues as part of identifying root cause for equipment downtime. * Must be able to work independently with minimal direct supervision. * Must be able to read, write and speak in English. * Must be able to comprehend and carry out written and verbal orders accurately. * Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks. This includes warehouse operations, stocking line materials and supplies, quality control testing, data entry, etc. * Must demonstrate good mechanical and operational aptitude with machinery. * Must maintain a good performance and excellent attendance and safety records. * Must be able to work well with co-workers. * Must be able to accurately document reports and describe issues in writing. * Must be TWG trained and certified forklift operator. * After qualification, the company may require First Aid, CPR, AED, Emergency Responder and/or other certifications as necessary. * Possess the ability to work in a fast pace environment under pressure and maintain a positive attitude. * Excellent interpersonal skills * Ability to learn and develop computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel. * Must be able to display integrity, character and lead by example. * Must have a history of good attendance and not have an attendance discipline write-up in the past 12 months. * Support and model all company procedures and policies. * Must maintain a safe, clean and healthful work environment at all times, including abiding by safety rules. * Must be able to learn and effectively operate machine work processes in accordance to SOP including attention to details and be accountable as necessary. * Must possess the ability to provide and/or aid in training to other personnel. * Must embrace and demonstrate The Wine Group Core Values - Performance, Empowered and Cost-mindful, and keep them in mind when making all decisions. * Must be able to work overtime and any shift. * Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and twisting in the performance of various tasks in the bag line environment. * Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds at varying frequencies and stand for long durations. * Will perform other duties as assigned. * Must be able to pass all applicable testing. * Once screening criteria is met, where skills and abilities are equal, seniority will be used in determining selection. * This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
