Summary
Working independently and strategically, the Technology Vice President will facilitate the evolution of the Technology Brands shopping experience, and develop technologies and information services that will have a material impact on the success of the organization regarding financial results, productivity, and employee and customer satisfaction. Associates in the role will be fiscally responsible, business-oriented, strategic IT executive who understands the complexities of the retail business and can operate in a lean, hands-on, cost-focused, yet growth-oriented environment. A key focus of the new Technology Vice President is on creating an IT roadmap and strategy that enables expansion and continues to enhance the company’s operational strategy. Additionally, the role will be expected to work closely with the Technology Brands leadership team to develop a multi-year IT strategy that supports the business by providing greater access and connection with customers. Individuals considering this role must understand the business of IT and implement rigorous processes surrounding requirements gathering, systems development, life cycle management, project prioritization and change management, with a goal of delivering applications that truly reflect the most important needs of the business.
Responsibilities
* Build and maintain strong relationships with their direct reports, peers, business leaders and senior management * In partnership with the business, create an IT strategy/roadmap and an operating plan for optimal execution that will lead the enterprise-wide IT teams through continued global expansion and consistent system upgrades * Continuously seek ways to add value and anticipate business needs * Develop talent in support of a culture that is energized, engaged, commercially focused and highly motivated to deliver best-in-class solutions and the highest levels of quality * Drive profitable sales through cost-efficient management of all IT applications, systems, and solutions * Lead and effectively manage the global Technology Brands portfolio of systems and projects * Successfully deliver critical systems on time and on or below budget, ensuring that they meet the needs of the business * Oversee the management of risk related to information security, physical security, business continuity planning, crisis management, privacy, and compliance * Lead the development and implementation of sustainable, and cost-effective Information Technology (IT) solutions aligned to the current and future business priorities and growth of the TECHNOLOGY BRANDS organization * Direct the definition, architecture, development, implementation and support of all applications, systems, solutions that enable and drive business objectives * Serve as a business partner helping to drive global business strategy * Lead the effective prioritization of projects directly linked to the company’s overall strategy. * Motivate, drive, and build an IT organization that is responsive to the needs of the business, and is flexible and cost-effective * Develop talent and effective teams within the IT organization; ensure that human capital capabilities of the IT organization are aligned with the growth of the company * Make decisions considering the implications to the entire business * Possess excellent critical thinking, creative problem-solving and decision-making skills * Model the behaviors expected of all GameStop leaders including, but not limited to, a drive for results, with a demonstrable bias for action; high levels of emotional intelligence, maturity, and professionalism; giving, receiving and responding to feedback, effectively; a consistently high service orientation; and demonstrable commitments to diversity, inclusion, a respectful workplace, and integrity.
