Summary

The IT Operations Analyst primary job function is to work in the 7 x 24, 365 day staffed IT Data Center/OPS Control Room to monitor and operate IT production systems and job schedules as well as peripheral equipment. Work hours are Wednesday - Friday with rotating Saturdays. 6pm - 6am

Responsibilities
  • Provide for continuous monitoring of systems, processes, and job schedules in the IT production environment.
  • Provide 1st level problem resolution support for system/job errors, communication failures, hardware failures, & other processing anomalies.
  • Record all details of issues, and as necessary, escalate appropriately to support groups & defined levels of management.
  • Produce a written Turnover Log and Handoff of shift events.
  • Perform scheduled and special requests for Jobs, Backups, Restores, and Media.
  • Produce and maintain procedures and documentation.
  • Run, Print, & Deliver reports to appropriate users.
  • Provide access security for computer room by ensuring all sign-in sheets and logs are maintained.
  • Communicate and effectively work with vendors.
  • Decommission servers and monitor the Data Center environment.
Ideal Candidate
  • High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years experience working in an enterprise data center operations environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Experience with AS/400 systems; Windows 2003 Servers; MS SQL; .NET; as well as MS-DOS, batch programming, and use of various protocols such as FTP, telnet, SSH, etc.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task, or to quickly change priorities.
  • Basic data entry and typing skills.
  • The ability to work with confidential documents.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written with proficiency in English.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working alone or with others, and a willingness to achieve team goals.
  • A+ or Network+ Certification and experience with Legato backup system and UNIX a plus.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time with minimal walking and standing while working in a fast-paced environment and be able to work extended hours to fulfill the requirements of the position.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. to a height of 4 feet without assistance.
  • Able to use and operate a computer and use MS Office applications and other required programs.
  • Organize, prioritize, and control job responsibilities.
  • Work with minimal supervision and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Read and comprehend printed data or information as well as data or information on a PC monitor.
  • Accurate typing and data entry skills including ability to perform basic math functions accurately (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have reliable transportation and be able to work any hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
