Summary
The Territory Sales Manager’s primary responsibilities are: new business development within a defined sales territory and delivering an assigned annual $ goal by deploying in the field the company’s marketing strategy, i.e. account targeting, association involvement, association meeting attendance and trade show participation. The TSM will use a variety of strategies and sales tools to present the company’s value proposition to the marketplace and convince new customers to contract for the company’s products and services.
Responsibilities
Contact in person prospective healthcare/medical industry clients shown in the database as Tier 1, for the purpose of converting them into customers. Working with Field Sales Coordinators, handle all closing activity in all designated Tier 1, 2 and 3 accounts. Handle all inventory calculations and garment sizing with new customers. Draft new account sales paperwork/packets for new customers and process properly and timely. Keep the CRM database updated with current and relevant information that will assist in the development of strategies to convert prospects into customers. The TSM is responsible for the quality of the SFDC qualified data. Debrief FSC’s daily when they are working in a sales territory and assist them with scheduling their call activity. Point them in the right direction. Participate in trade show and association meetings when assigned. Visit a minimum of 25 Tier 1 prospects weekly to move them closer to becoming a customer. These should be new visits on prospects that have not been visited recently. Make 10 to 15 call backs weekly on prospects recently visited. Make 8 to 12 appointments each week for the purpose of making a presentation, negotiating pricing/terms or closing new accounts to meet goals and objectives. Close on average 1 to 2 new accounts each week
Ideal Candidate
A minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in Business to Business Sales A 4 year Bachelor’s Degree is required Demonstrate a thorough and detailed nature to complete work assignments Effective and proactive communication skills to align insight delivery with company value propositions Highly organized and effective time management skills to balance multiple activities Team oriented. A desire and willingness to help others. Able to adapt and remain flexible Effective use of MS-Office tools and proficient at Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Internet Proven technical skills (well developed software and computer capabilities) Strong interpersonal skills and awareness (tact, friendliness & perspective) plus proven organizational skills are essential. Proficient at performing market/customer research using different media types Experience with Safesforce.com considered a plus!
