Summary
Project Managers will develop a deep knowledge of business needs and how they can be met with various applications at the company. The ideal candidate will proactively evaluate their product space, appropriately develop various company applications, and provide technology solutions to help enable our strategic goals. Project Managers work closely with IT, business subject matter experts, and other members of the company’s Projects Group.
Responsibilities
* Works with user groups, Business Partners and IT to assess Business user needs, recommend changes, evaluate suggested projects and resolve questions related to process changes impacting assigned product group. This may include recommending adoption of new software/retiring current software. * Manages all phases of projects to ensure projects are completed efficiently and meet the business user’s requirements. Projects can be multi-year, multi-million dollar efforts involving replacement of core business systems and multiple business units. * Assesses suitability of vendor products and provides direction to vendors. * Develop and provide training related to any changes made to software/new software acquired. * Makes decisions related to products and issues, identifying those issues that need to be escalated to senior management. * Works with senior management to define project vision, scope, goals and deliverables. Advises on solutions to solve business problem. * Defines, organizes and prioritizes project components. Creates and maintains all timelines and budgets related to projects. Manages project costs to meet budget. Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path. * Assesses requirements to deliver projects including implementation of solution. Works with affected department managers to identify project participants and roles. Coordinates and oversees efforts of all participants, identifying potential issues and working with parties as necessary to resolve. Scope of projects requires broad coordination. * Evaluates impact of new situations and proposed modifications, including severity and likelihood of outcomes on budgets, timelines, and/or desired results. Proactively manage by identifying issues/problems and devising contingency and mitigation plans. * Interfaces with senior management regarding status and advises on issues and risks regarding technology projects. * May prepare specifications for system changes and/or systems testing. * Ensures proper documentation for each project.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education/experience * 3+ years of relevant professional experience * Professional, courteous, and effective written and verbal communication skills to multiple audiences, including various levels of management. Comfortable delivering tough messages to customers * Learns new processes and systems quickly * Is a driven, team player that can demonstrate initiative and possesses ability to work independently * Able to analyze complex issues * Knowledge of SDLC * Strong organizational skills * Strong technical background preferred * PMP Certification is a plus
