Web Application Software Architect

Financial Engines made an acquisition earlier this year, and we are expanding our product offering. We are looking for a hands-on Web Application Architect to help us ready our customer site for this period of growth, which includes defining the strategy and best practices for the UI framework, aggressive adoption of AWS, delivering on performance and scalability, and simplifying complexities so we can iterate quickly. * Assume ownership and evolve the UI architecture for the customer site, including the execution and long term strategy * Provide expert guidance to engineers on technology, design, security, scalability, performance and evolvability of the product * Collaborate with Product Managers and Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products * Maintain and promote the consistency of the Web Experience via UI Style Guide and UI Components * Define patterns for how to manage complexity of the system to improve the velocity of product ideas * Keep up to date with Web Application technology AND ability to test those ideas in the product

* 8+ years of industry experience working on high volume consumer-facing web application * Expert level understanding of single page application (SPA) architecture for web development, particularly with AngularJS, React JS, Bootstrap, Node * Comfortable with integrating backend services exposed through generic REST API * Automation driven mindset and solid understanding of modern CI/CD practices * Excellent debugging and problem solving skills, including ability to diagnose and fix performance and scalability issues. * Data-driven decision making, results oriented * BS in Computer Science or a related field
