Summary
Responsible for administration, engineering and operational support for the server infrastructure providing a 24 x 7 continuous availability environment
Responsibilities
* Remain familiar with company’s products, customers, security/privacy policies and information systems. * Perform administrative tasks for systems engineering, including installation, configuration and maintenance of: * Microsoft Windows Servers (physical and virtual) * Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy * Microsoft clustering and other high availability solutions * Security auditing of Microsoft environment * Manage projects from start to finish such as upgrades and new application rollouts. * Communicate technical information to non-technical users and customers with clarity and compassion. * Enter and track projects/tasks using the standard ticketing system. * Maintain documentation on networks and systems as per standard procedures. * Evaluate and make recommendations on technology. * Ensure the highest level of IT security possible. * Continually learn and improve technical skills by making use of reading materials and other available training tools. * Be available during non-business hours to address production issues and perform maintenance. * Respond promptly to system emergency situations. * Work as a team with and provide direction to, other Engineers and Administrators. * Provide assistance/backup to desktop support technicians. * Obtain and share knowledge of all supported applications and platforms. * Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Education & Experience** - 3 to 5 years of Microsoft-centric experience - Strong background in Windows server technologies, Active Directory and related technologies. Knowledge of Linux and VMware a plus. - Bachelor’s degree in information technology discipline preferred - Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. **Licenses, Certifications, etc.** Microsoft MCP or equivalent experience
Compensation and Working Conditions

Working Conditions

On-call rotation; Weekly after-hours maintenance window. Some travel, normally no more than 2-3 days per month.
