Summary
VCE is looking for product marketing managers with experience in data center infrastructure, preferably in areas including virtualization, software-defined storage, and/or data center networking. . As a Product Marketing Manager, you will understand customer pain points, opportunities and strategies that are driving the global transition to converged infrastructure. You will collaborate with EMC cross-functional groups and partners to strategize, plan and develop messaging and marketing content for VCE’s hyper-converged infrastructure product portfolio. This includes aligning with VCE product strategies, understanding and communicating the customer value proposition, quantifying success metrics, and marketing the success of our customers.
Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for creating content and messaging to communicate the value of VCE’s converged solutions for next generation data centers worldwide. The successful candidate will influence the purchase decisions for customers as they transition to deploying, managing and operating next generation data centers using a hybrid cloud model. This position interacts closely and consistently with product development, product management, sales and field marketing teams, combined with intimate customer engagement, leading to continual increases in market awareness to enhance promotion and adoption of VCE’s converged solutions portfolio. Additional responsibilities include: * Develop compelling content and messaging for VCE and partner sales via creation of messaging guides, sales plays, materials, blogs, customer-facing messaging and validated customer differentiation. * Drive awareness through differentiated market messaging, accelerating customer demand with traditional and out-of-the-box marketing activities such as global product launches, targeted industry events, customer roadshows, social media and other digital marketing endeavors. * Drive thought leadership targeted at customers, press, industry analysts, sales and channel partners and other influencers. * Develop sales enablement content and messaging to help train the field and keep them up to date on the rapid evolving hyper-converged market and VCE offerings. * Be recognized as the subject matter expert in customer needs, pain points and buying criteria of Enterprise and Service Provider customers. * Work collaboratively with VCE Sales on web-scale solutions that can start small and scale linearly to thousands of processors * Create customer-facing demos and videos that showcase value of VCE hyper-converged solutions. * Drive direct customer awareness of VCE’s differentiated customer value through regular interaction with customers in VCE’s Customer Technology Center.
Ideal Candidate
We seek a highly collaborative, hands-on individual who has exceptional relationship development and influencing skills coupled with a history of delivering market-differentiated solutions Additionally, we require: * 5-10 years of high tech product marketing experience, preferably in data center/enterprise IT infrastructure solutions such as virtualization, software –defined storage, and/or data center networking * Exceptional communication, presentation and influencing skills at all levels, with an ability to work with all personality types * Familiarity with cross media integration utilizing social media and mobile to drive marketing awareness and interaction * Experience presenting at customer briefings, tradeshows, conferences, and webinars * Experience with competitive strategy, including research and analysis of competitive alternatives * Highly proficient in writing, white board story telling / messaging, video & podcast scripting, and translating complex technical functions into simple and compelling customer messages * Professional expertise with blogs, podcasts, video clips, social networks and forums * Masters preferred
