Summary
The Business IT Manager is responsible for the implementation, documentation, and execution of the assigned COE/Program information technology strategy. Plan, coordinate, and direct operational activities as well as provide input and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. Work closely with IT management to identify, recommend, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for assigned area.
Responsibilities
* Manage the development and execution of strategic technology road map for assigned area. * Consult with management to design technology solutions, review departmental goals, and report on IT progress and issues. * Initiate and implement improvements in all areas of IT responsibility serving as the main point of contact on all IT-related matters. * Manage the coordination of analysis and design of automated solutions to business problems. * Establish standards and procedures for IT and modifies schedules and plans as required. * Coordinate with IT to facilitate the scheduling of approved change requests and develop/monitor execution schedule. * Monitor project results against technical specifications; develop and maintain technical and project documentation. * Facilitate the adoption of new or improved processes and/or procedures. These changes include technology implementations, service level agreements (SLA), operational level agreements (OLA) and IT policies. * Coordinate incident and problem resolution with other IT organizations. * Establish and maintain regular communications with IT leadership regarding initiatives. * Directly supervise assigned employees including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. * Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Experience & Education** * Bachelor’s degree in information technology preferred. * Eight (8) years’ progressively responsible experience with Information Technology environment with strong background in software and infrastructure. * Prefer previous management experience. * Additional experience/education may be required by assignment/contract and will be listed separately. **Knowledge & Skills** * Advanced knowledge of IT development testing practices and techniques. * Ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple priorities. * Current on the latest technological advances and best practices within industry. * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. * Strong knowledge of databases and spreadsheets. * Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and project management skills. * Additional knowledge/skills may be required by assignment/contract and will be listed separately. **Physical Requirements/Working Environment** * Normal office environment
