Summary
Manage the development and introduction of new Own Brands items to provide a full line of differentiated products, each meeting target consumer needs and offering the highest competitive value.
Responsibilities
**Product Development:** * Schedule and participate in formal product evaluations and coordinate consumer panels as needed. * Continually review product formulation, price, packaging and promotion to optimize sales, share, profitability and build brand equity. * Function as a liaison between Merchants, Manufactures, and Own Brands Team. **Package Design:** * Provide strategic guidelines for Own Brand package design via Design Briefs. * Responsible for design kick-off and execution. * Review and approve all packaging design or label artwork. **Planning:** * Develop and implement objectives, strategies, and long range annual plans for assigned categories. * Closely monitor and analyze sales volumes, share trends and competitive activity. * Assess competitive threats, develop plans to address them and executes those plans. * Develop and execute promotional initiatives to profitably increase consumption with the budgeted parameters. * Perform, coordinate and lead the analysis and development of: marketing plans; product promotions; advertising; in-store displays; merchandising strategies; and inventory forecasting * Performs increasingly complex interactions with suppliers, taking ownership and including rate negotiation **Other Responsibilities:** * Position may be required to perform other related duties as assigned. Ideal Candidate
* Minimum education is Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field; MBA is preferred. * Minimum 3-6 years marketing/product development experience in consumer packaged goods or retailer equivalent. * Self-motivated with ability to work productively and independently. * Requires innovative thinking, product development experience, retail experience. * Strong organizational and project management skills
