Maintenance Mechanic

Efficiently and effectively install and maintain equipment, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair production equipment and facilities systems, perform fabrication and welding, and provide technical assistance to the production departments. Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety, food safety and quality, cost and GMP standards in a high speed manufacturing environment.

* Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and make repairs in expeditious manner. * Perform preventative maintenance functions. * Perform yearly rebuilds on assigned equipment. * Participate and assist in the installation of new machinery. * Inspect machines for parts wear and recommend/participate in making necessary repairs. * Ensure that all paperwork including daily end of shift reports, inventory, safety sheets (ex: hot work permits, confined space) and supply requisitions are accurate. * Responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiate action, as necessary. * Follow all Food Safety guidelines, but not limited to: * GMPs * Allergen Program * Quality * Sanitation * Safety * H.A.C.C.P. * Ensure SQF standards are met.

**Position Requirements** * Minimum HS graduate or equivalent * Minimum of five years electrical/mechanical maintenance experience preferably in a packaging manufacturing environment. * Experience troubleshooting and installing high speed industrial machinery. * Project management – ability to see job through to completion with attention to detail in a timely manner. * Ability to work within a team concept. Flexibility is an asset. * Strong background in electronics and PLC controlled processes. * Strong machining and welding skills are desirable. * Strong safety record. * Good attendance and dependability a must. * Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs. **Physical Demands** * Sitting 15 % * Walking 35 % * Standing 50 % * Near acuity (clarity of vision at 20 inches or less) * Speaking-ordinary speech * Far acuity (clarity of vision at distances greater than 10 feet) * Hearing-ordinary conversation * Fingering-computer keyboard * Must have dexterous use of both hands **Work Environment** * Exposure to fluorescent lights. * Occasional extreme climate or climate variation. * Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards. * Standing and walking on concrete floors.
