As a member of the accounting development team, The Accounting Software Analyst will certify and assure quality of new and existing accounting products by auditing and executing test plans to verify that new or modified software programs function according to user requirements and conform to established accounting guidelines. Communicates and coordinates results with impacted departments.
Responsibilities
* Performs hands-on testing of new accounting products or enhancements to existing accounting products. Defines complex scenarios and variations in data to adequately test the functionality. * Creates accounting rules that the automated test use to check the data accuracy of the reports. * Monitors and investigates the automated test results. * Defines test scenarios for the SDETs to automate. * Submits defects in defect tracking system and retests and verifies these defects once they are fixed. * Interacts with other accounting Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and development teams to identify and refine test requirements. * Reviews and provides feedback on requirements, design, and scope documents. * May assist with education and training with regard to accounting software enhancements and conveying corrections to other employees.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting * Strong knowledge of GAAP * Strong analytical and problem solving skills. * Advanced Microsoft Excel user **Desired Skills:** * CPA * SQL and database querying experience * Securities or financial markets knowledge * Knowledge of Statutory Accounting (STAT) * Audit experience
