Summary
The Senior Accountant will have significant involvement in many areas of the Company’s financial processes, including revenue recognition and collection, payables, cash management, general ledger close, reconciliations, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting. This individual will be part of a small team tasked with implementing a scalable finance operation with sound controls at a pivotal moment for the Company. This is a hands-on and dynamic position, requiring technical skill and business acuity to enhance a focused team of startup professionals. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be empowered to exercise the role to its fullest extent and create lasting, measurable impact within the company.
Responsibilities
* Perform regular analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures * Prepare account reconciliations and variance analysis * Manage the revenue collection process and company payments * Assist with financial and tax audits and other tax reporting * Support month-end and year-end close process * Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls * Coordinate finance and accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
Ideal Candidate
* Expert knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with GAAP, as well as an ability to grasp company financial policies and protocols. * 4 years of relevant accounting experience * CPA or CPA candidate preferred * Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet numerous deadlines * Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees * Superior analytical and problem-solving skills * Familiarity with accounting software and programs. * Advanced excel skills a plus
