Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Safety and Security Operations, this position will plan, establish, implement and provide coordinated leadership and direction in all aspects of security operations, procedures and policies in order to protect the staff, reputation, facility and other assets of the Chicago Cubs. The Security Operations Manager will have to demonstrate excellent workforce management and security awareness skills. This position will be committed to security standard operational practices and will be responsible for management of all hazards and/or risks to safety in order to preserve an environment where associates, visitors, and the campus are well protected. Additionally, this position will collaborate with the Assistant Director of Event Operations and their team on security matters regarding all events held at Wrigley Field. Overall, the Manager will ensure a coordinated security program is successfully executed at all locations owned or supported by the Chicago Cubs.
Responsibilities
* Provide oversight and management of all security operations related matters at all owned, leased and operated Chicago Cubs facilities. * Oversee Safety associates at each of the Cubs facilities locations providing 24/7 physical security. * Recruit, interview, hire, and regularly conduct performance reviews of Safety associates. * Implement policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for the protection of associates, intellectual property, products, operations and facilities from unauthorized disclosure, counterfeiting, piracy, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage or financial loss. * Oversee and monitor the security systems at all locations, which include CCTV, access control and radio communications. * Train Security staff on and ensure implementation of security and emergency response plans and procedures for all facilities. * Work closely with the Chicago Cubs Facilities Management team on the planning of facilities projects. Advise the Facilities and Operations Department regarding security implications for new construction and building renovations. * Ensure effective coordination with law enforcement, fire, medical and other emergency resources. * Instruct Security staff on the implementation and use of new security and safety systems being installed. * Ensure the safety and security of the buildings, associates, and all assets, which includes being aware of safety and security needs, responding as needed and reporting issues as they arise. * Participate in all department planning meetings, leadership meetings, and training. * Communicate all issue, needs, and/or incidents to Director of Safety and Security as well as Event Management during home games.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications** * 4-year accredited college degree in Security Management, Homeland Security, or Criminal Justice, or seven years of security work experience in a large institutional or governmental environment * A minimum of five years of force management and policy-making experience in the security field * Ability to perform the following duties as required: stand and/or sit for long periods of time, push/pull/carry/lift up to 25lbs (event evacuation), climb stairs, sit, twist, turn, and bend * Previous work experience preparing and managing operational budgets * Excellent communication and administrative skills * Strong ability to create and thrive in a team environment * Attention to detail including excellent time management and organizational skills * Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle * Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed **Preferred Qualifications** * Military and/or Law Enforcement experience * Guest Service experience * Sports/Stadium Security experience * Experience managing Union Employees
