Summary
Supports General Manager with regard to continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures production operations are in compliance with policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Manages all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Caraustar accounting policies and financial control procedures. Ensures that Subordinates are trained in and aware of the requirements of the Caraustar Standards of Business Conduct Policy. * Effectively manage labor and optimize manufacturing schedules. * Minimize waste in all areas of operations * Adhere to and execute all company policies and procedures. * Analyze production data implement counter measures improve plant OEE * Ensure efficient production and on-time delivery of products and services * Experience with lean manufacturing (Kaizen, SMED, TPM, RCM, Six Sigma) * Ensures a safe work environment and compliance with safe work rules. * Comply in all respects with the provisions of the Caraustar Standards of Business Conduct Policy required. * Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory and environmental agencies. * Determine staffing requirements, training and hiring requirements of new employees, and oversee personnel processes. * Operator within a stringent Quality Systems environment (SQF Food Safety)
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications/Experience/Skills** * Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Engineering or related industry experience preferred and/or at least 5 years management experience in manufacturing or similar industry required. * Must have Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma experience. SSBB preferred * Must have extensive knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resource modeling, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of people and resources. * Thorough understanding of Human Resource principles and procedures of recruitment, selection, training, labor relations and negotiations, and personnel information systems where appropriate. * Ability to use data and business systems to identify areas of opportunity. * Ability to implement, execute and sustain manufacturing culture change. * Desire to drive continuous improvement consistent with business objectives. * Bilingual preferred.
