Summary
This role plays a leadership role in the development and delivery of a cross functional enabler program to deliver annual savings target. This role is the Canadian representative involved in procurement contract negotiations, negotiating the best value of goods and services for the lowest possible cost. This role provides Canadian leadership on the Global/IGS Procurement team as input into IGS plans and strategies and leading roll out of IGS plans within Canada. The role develops finished goods supply plans for 2-3 brands, to meet service, inventory & innovation plans.
Responsibilities
**Job Context** * Lead Ingredient and Packaging Enabler/Cost Reduction program, to meet cost savings targets from fiscal operating plan. Lead cross-functional teams to generate & action enabler plans to meet AOP targets. Work with Leadership teams to share gaps vs target and determine actions required. Lead changes to company culture to shift towards a cost savings way of working. * Provide Canadian leadership on Global/IGS procurement team, sharing Campbell Canada business insights & Canadian supplier insights/trends as input into IGS procurement strategies and plans. Share IGS/Global plans and strategies with Canadian leadership team. * Participate in contract negotiations for Canadian suppliers, both with face-to-face negotiations and written contracts, working with IGS team members. * Build Supply Plans for Finished Goods (2-3 brands), to support innovation plans and meet annual operation plan targets on inventory & customer service, participating in S&OP meetings. **Specific Accountabilities** * Lead Ingredient and Packaging Enabler/Cost Reduction program, working in partnership with R&D Senior Program Manager with goal of meeting or exceeding cost savings targets from fiscal operating plan. Provide direction to multiple departments on cost reduction targets and opportunities, bring together team members to share enabler goals and develop savings projects, & lead use of Brainstorming and Continuous Improvement tools. Coordinate cross-functional teams to assess and implement savings projects. Work with S-Chain Finance to track enabler savings, and with Leadership teams to share gaps vs target and determine actions required. Lead changes to company culture to shift towards a cost savings way of working. (50%) * Provide Canadian leadership on Global/IGS procurement team. Participate in IGS team meetings and interactions, sharing Campbell Canada business insights (innovation, financial updates) as input into IGS procurement strategies and plans. Provide insights on Canadian market trends and supplier base as input to IGS plans and strategies. Share IGS/Global plans and strategies with Canadian leadership team and lead roll out within Canadian Business (eg supplier and ingredient strategies and, bringing people together to execute plans. Ensure Canadian business is following best practices (processes & tools) of IGS team (15%). * Participate in contract negotiations for Canadian suppliers, both with face-to-face negotiations and written contracts, working with IGS team members. Bring strong Canadian market knowledge as input to the negotiations, and work to target the best value of goods and services for the lowest possible cost (15%) * Build Supply Plans for Finished Goods (2-3 brands) to meet AOP targets for inventory & customer service and support innovation plans. Work with co-packers and US plants to share supply plan required and collaboratively resolve supply constraints. Participate as member of cross-functional business team to support business plans with supply plans. Participate in S&OP meetings to input into S.Chain and Business plans (20%).
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering * Designation in CPIM, PMAC or PLOG preferred * Minimum 7 years of experience in a procurement role in the CPG industry, with strong knowledge of Canadian market * Contract negotiation skills * Understanding of manufacturing systems and capabilities. * Superior communication, negotiation and analytical skills * Ability to provide strong direction to peers, with clear, compellling communication and strong ability to influence. * Ability to work in a high pressure environment * Must be savvy, ability to work at the management level, and present recommendations to managers. **Working Conditions** Physical Effort: Time is divided 50/50 between sitting in a comfortable position with an opportunity to move about and standing/walking. Physical Environment: Located in a comfortable indoor environment for 50% of the time and in a plant environment for 50% of the time with exposure to loud noise and high temperatures. Sensory Attention: There is a frequent need to give close attention to various stimuli such as written materials, a computer monitor (and/or spreadsheet concurrently), and information given verbally by co-workers and/or clients. Working in an open cubicle impacted by noise. Regularly required to give attention to what is going on around when in the plant (50% of the time). Mental Stress: Deals with deadlines and prioritizes between multiple demands
