Summary
The Zonal Product Manager (PM) is charged with profitably growing the Private Client Group (PCG) Property, Auto & Excess portfolio in an assigned zone or group of states. The PM will ensure the P&C products are priced adequately and positioned competitively to grow in targeted segments of the High Net Worth (HNW) population. The PM is accountable for top and bottom line results. The Zonal PM is effectively an in-house entrepreneur charged with developing and leading a business plan for their assigned states. The PM is an integral part of the Zonal management team with influence on all aspects of PCG’s P&C offering including product development, pricing segmentation, underwriting, systems, distribution channels, marketing, and product filings. The PM may be assigned exclusively to one product (e.g. Property) based on business need.
Responsibilities
* Set a tailored strategy and lead execution for the local market, executing on the global principles for managing the product. * Manage top and bottom line P&C product results including achievement of growth targets, GOE expense controls and achievement of the targeted combined ratio. * Work closely with Regional Pricing Actuarial and Business Analytics on pricing and portfolio strategies. * Ensures adequate and regular monitoring and analysis of the portfolio performance of Service -Programs line of business, and takes action for profit and/or growth as appropriate * Sets expectations and parameters for analysis of: * Insurance markets and our competitive position in those markets. * Market trends and identifying areas of opportunity for expansion of existing and introduction of new products. * Company performance including proper earnings and identifying areas in pricing and/or underwriting that need to be revised due to competitor programs, rates and/or actions * Provide leadership/expertise with the development of underwriting and risk segmentation strategies for multiple distribution channels, including brokers / independent agents, direct marketing and alternative distribution channels. * Work with the Claims Manager/Organization to define the Claims Strategies and Objectives for the business segment, and together monitor progress on these items for the business segment. * Provides leadership for establishing and maintaining proper client relationship management and new business development. * Work with the Customer Service Manager/Organization to define the Customer Service Strategies and Objectives for the business segment, and together monitor our progress on these items for the business segment. * Work with the Legal Manager/Organization to define the Legal Strategies and Objectives for the business segment, and together monitor our progress on these items for the business segment. * Work with the IT Manager/Organization to define the IT Strategies and Objectives for the business segment, and together monitor our progress on these items for the business segment. * Work with the Distribution Manager/Organization to define the Distribution Strategies and Objectives for the business segment, and together monitor our progress on these items for the business segment.

**Leadership Skills** * Strategic orientation, managing vision and purpose, developing organizational capability. * A proactive leader who possesses the ability to empower, motivate and inspire employees to attain goals and objectives * Strong influencing and communications skills and ability to work across multiple parts of the business * Ability of holding accountable for business performance and “health/culture” * Strong knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and multiple distribution systems **Required Knowledge** * 5 – 10 years’ experience building a P&C insurance business (Home, Auto & Excess) * Insurance knowledge including underwriting, pricing, and rating concepts * Strong analytical and project management skills * Excellent communications & interpersonal skills * Undergraduate degree preferred * Self-starter, ability to discover problems and implement solutions. Strong analytical and reasoning skills in interpretation of numbers. * Proficient in MS office applications. Prior experience and skills in using Excel for data analysis is strongly recommended. * Language skills as required for specific role and fluency in English required * Ideal candidate should have MBA, other advanced technical degree, or appropriate experience. * Track record of achieving results that have a clear, positive, and direct impact on business performance. * Highly developed quantitative analysis and decision making skills
