Summary
Birchbox is looking for a sharp mind to assist the growing Finance department on all matters of financial planning and analysis for our global business operations. You will have the opportunity to work in our innovative and fast-changing environment where your analyses and insights help our executive team make key decisions. We need someone with integrity, energy, passion and a strong financial background to aide in everything from day-to-day business operations to forecasting and planning to financing. We’re a lean team and this role offers a motivated and hardworking individual the opportunity to make a big impact, while learning about all aspects of our business.
Responsibilities
* Manage global financial forecasts, including ownership of operating models * Coordinate with accounting team on month, quarter and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial reports * Track business performance against operating plans and prepare variance analyses for management and other financial stakeholders * Establish and maintain strong business partnerships and cross-functional relationships to provide decision support * Assist with the annual budgeting process by providing guidance, support and analytics * Support management in corporate development activities, including fundraising and M&A * Initiate continual process improvement efforts that enhance timeliness and accuracy of financial results * Prepare plans of action for investment based on financial analyses * Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed
Ideal Candidate
* BA or BS degree; finance and accounting coursework preferred * 1 – 2 years of applicable experience, including investment banking or corporate finance * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint **You…** * have a focused and proven financial track record, crafted at an investment bank or an operating company * pride yourself on the quality of your work and are a stickler for details * look forward to new challenges and love digging into problems * are at your best working in a fast-paced, team environment under tight deadlines * have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, especially distilling down financial information so that everyone gets it *are motivated to work on a small team and believe that no job is too small * operate with the utmost integrity
