Financial Analyst

Birchbox is looking for a sharp mind to assist the growing Finance department on all matters of financial planning and analysis for our global business operations. We need someone with integrity, energy, passion and a strong financial background to aide in everything from day-to-day business operations to forecasting and planning to financing. * Manage global financial forecasts, including ownership of operating models * Coordinate with accounting team on month, quarter and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial reports * Track business performance against operating plans and prepare variance analyses for management and other financial stakeholders * Establish and maintain strong business partnerships and cross-functional relationships to provide decision support * Assist with the annual budgeting process by providing guidance, support and analytics * Support management in corporate development activities, including fundraising and M&A * Initiate continual process improvement efforts that enhance timeliness and accuracy of financial results * Prepare plans of action for investment based on financial analyses * Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed

* BA or BS degree; finance and accounting coursework preferred * 1 – 2 years of applicable experience, including investment banking or corporate finance * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint **You…** * have a focused and proven financial track record, crafted at an investment bank or an operating company * pride yourself on the quality of your work and are a stickler for details * look forward to new challenges and love digging into problems * are at your best working in a fast-paced, team environment under tight deadlines * have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, especially distilling down financial information so that everyone gets it *are motivated to work on a small team and believe that no job is too small * operate with the utmost integrity
