Benihana Inc. is an operator of teppanyaki-style restaurants. The Company also operates two other Asian restaurant concepts: RA Sushi and Haru. The Company owns and operates 64, and franchises 10 additional Benihana teppanyaki restaurants. It owns and operates 27 RA Sushi, and 7 Haru restaurants. In August 2012, the Company announced the completion of its acquisition by funds advised by the Private Equity Group of Angelo, Gordon & Co. resulting in the Company no longer being a publicly traded company.
