Summary
The Product Manager is responsible for strategic business planning across any area of responsibility in the product line. This involves accountability for product contribution to organizational goals, as well as definition / prioritization of business requirements and collaboration with the engineering, client services, sales and marketing teams to execute on the product plan. The Product Manager will understand the market dynamics and competitive landscape of the business, and use this framework to set the product roadmap, ensuring that it aligns with company objectives.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the Overall execution of product roadmap * Support the collection, organization and prioritization of business requirements for products. Development of business cases or other justification – financial and otherwise – regarding the contents of individual product releases * Timely development and distribution of product-related documentation, including functional specifications, release notes, use cases, release schedules, sales support and all other product communication * Outline Detailed definition and documentation of application functionality, usability and workflow * Effective solicitation of business requirements from vested business units, including Client Services, Sales and Engineering, as well as applicable external sources, including competitive analysis, market trends and other related sources * Assist with the management of product release cycle, including coordination of design, development, quality and deployment efforts, development of change request sets, project management and communication of product release schedules. * Participation in development, coordination and management of preview programs, where necessary * Participation in product-related activities, including marketing programs, pre- and post-sales efforts, training development, customer support and other business development activities. * Participation in development, maintenance and communication of product standards, including visual styles, terminology, usability, performance and presentation.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on product management experience; preferred experience in an Internet software environment, SaaS delivery model and recurring revenue as primary business model * Proven ability to collaborate with multiple departments and facilitate an effective, efficient development process while achieving high quality output and meeting deadlines * A good understanding of general business concepts, processes and principles and their applications in a software environment
