Summary
This Weekend Manager will work an average of one full 40 hour weekend shift per month as needed within the staffing structure. This weekend shift consists of Friday 5:00pm - Sunday 4:00pm, during this weekend shift the Manager's role involves overnight on call responsibilities in the residence of the Lodge. Additional evening coverage and schedule flexibility during evening and weekend hours preferred.
Responsibilities
* Maintains the safety and comfort of guests as a primary focus; continuously scans lodge and surrounding environment for breeches or threats to safety including fire hazards, local crime, traffic and severe weather; helps develop plans for evacuation or protection of lodge and guests from hazards; develops viable relationships w/local safety personnel and services. * Oversees and directs the weekend operation of the Hope Lodge including maintaining reports of operations and conducting maintenance and security checks. * Establishes and or utilizes specific measures of desired outcomes to assess organizational and regional performance. * Maintains housekeeping and other operational responsibilities within the Lodge. * Communicates rules and regulations with patients upon admission and provides emotional support to ensure the well being of guests. * Maintains visibility and availability for guests to ensure the highest quality service is provided in order to offer an adequate comfort level. * Conducts room inspections after checkouts of guest. * Acts as a catalyst for change and encourages and supports others in their change efforts. * Responsible for greeting guests. * Answering the telephone and using call system for guests. * Handles admission and orientation of new guest. * Leaves messages for incoming staff. * Puts maintenance and supply requests in appropriate location for follow up. * Proactively and assertively addresses issues as they arise. * Makes business based decisions; maintains accurate files, submits timely and accurate reports; meets timelines, follows through; apprises supervisor of status; provides viable & innovative solutions to problems; attends meetings/trainings, adheres to approved policy/procedure, represents the organization in a professional manner. * Performs other duties as assigned.

* Remains composed under stress, handles self in a professional manner at all times and takes personal responsibility for delivering on personal and organizational commitments. * Ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities in a focused manner. * Ability to work independently with minimum direction. * Ability to coordinate and implement multiple responsibilities, projects and priorities. * Acts in the best interest of the organization and enhances the image of the American Cancer Society in the public eye. * • Utilizes available technology to perform position responsibilities. * Provides effective verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with others. * Establishes effective working relationships with diverse individuals and communities, as appropriate. * Manages resources effectively and efficiently. * Applies and follows American Cancer Society policies and guidelines. * Provides high quality customer service, both internally and externally. * Completes work in a timely and efficient manner and ensures work is accurate. * Successful experience working with volunteer management. * Experience in guest or hospitality services. * Lift and carry at least 25 pounds. * Available for overtime as needed. * Work with office equipment. * Read, write and basic math skills. * Basic computer skills and email use. * Ability to handle multi-line phone system. * Ability to get along with coworkers and others. * Attends work on a consistent, continual and punctual basis.
