Summary
We are currently seeking a Construction Project Manager to join the Abacus team based out of our Denver, CO office. We are looking for individuals with experience in construction project management in either the multi-family or single-family fields. Project types will typically include renovations of existing apartment common spaces, apartment unit interiors, exteriors and site work. Abacus also has a new-development platform so there will be potential to expand into ground-up construction as well. We are looking for a candidate with a solid background in Construction, Architecture or Engineering. Project work will be nationwide so frequent travel will be required.
Responsibilities
We are seeking someone with 5-10 years’ experience in Construction Project Management, as well as the following: * Self-starter – able to start and complete projects independently * Time management – use time effectively and efficiently, can attend to a broad range of activities across many disciplines, in many locations, with a variety of project teams * Ability to read & understand Construction Drawings & specifications * Experience with budget & milestone/schedule development, management and tracking * RFP generation, interviewing, analysis & recommendations of project team assembly including designers, GC’s and subcontractors as required. * Experience with hard bid analysis and leveling with ability to make recommendations to senior management on vendor/contractor selection * Ability to perform contract negotiations and to analyze & negotiate change orders * Ability to write clear and concise communications * Ability to run meetings, set agendas, and issue meeting minutes
Ideal Candidate
* Technically savvy: Proficient in Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Project * Hard worker & team player - no task too small. Getting the job done and exceeding expectations is the key to integrating successfully into our team.
