Responsibilities
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, including vendor, sponsorship, license, consulting and marketing agreements * Counseling the business on a wide range of commercial issues, regulatory compliance matters, and company policies and procedures, including intellectual property, marketing materials, and privacy * Reviewing and drafting appearance, liability and other releases * Performing and analyzing trademark clearance searches * Registering and renewing domain names * Overseeing online intellectual property enforcement, with significant interaction with outside counsel and internal business clients * Researching and drafting cease and desist letters and responding to same * Providing assistance with various public relations matters * Overseeing product recalls and other regulatory matters * Providing training of junior paralegals and administrative staff * Providing occasional trainings to internal business clients on intellectual property and vendor contract issues
Ideal Candidate
* 5 to 10 plus years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate setting * Must have broad understanding of contract provisions (both legal and business terms) and significant experience drafting and negotiating those terms **Preferred Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred * In-house paralegal experience strongly preferred * Significant intellectual property experience strongly preferred, including a deep familiarity with trademark and copyright law * Regulatory and compliance experience a plus * Sweepstakes and contests experience a plus * Someone who is very detail-oriented, organized, a self-starter, and dependable, with a strong commitment to deadlines * Strong written and oral communication skills * The ability to work independently, with little supervision, while functioning well in a team environment * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and prioritize accordingly * Strong ability to understand general business operations * Able to maintain highest level of confidentiality of projects and information * Ardent problem solver with an eye towards detail * Proactive and able to anticipate needs based on changing circumstances * Highly skilled in basic and advanced functions of Microsoft Word and proficient in Excel
