Our client, a Canadian based, full service real estate asset management, ownership and investment organization, is seeking an Asset Manager for their U.S. multi-residential portfolio. The Asset Manager will be based in Dallas, Texas and be responsible for developing asset business plans and strategies, as well as investments/acquisitions for the assigned portfolio, with the overarching goal of maximizing value and returns to investors.
- Creating annual business plans and working with third party property managers to create annual budgets for an assigned portfolio of assets
- Work with third party property managers to execute asset business plans and set priorities on value add strategies.
- Liaise with third party property managers on a regular basis through weekly calls to ensure that revenue management software is optimized and that all value add initiatives are on track
- Review monthly financial results to ensure that they are exceeding budget
- Determining cosmetic and deferred maintenance capital projects and working with third party property managers and project managers to deploy capital and control capital expenditures
- Underwriting acquisition opportunities in your assigned geographic regions including the preparation of financial models
- Assisting with due diligence requirements for acquisitions, dispositions, and other transactions for the portfolio
- Conducting and reviewing annual third party appraisals for the portfolio
- Preparing quarterly reporting packages and investor newsletters
- Liaising with third party tax consultants on annual tax assessments
The successful candidate will possess a progressive track record of experience in asset management within a real estate organization. Advanced financial analysis capability is essential, as well as relationship building and strong interpersonal skills. Additional qualifications include:
- A University Degree in Business, Commerce, Urban Planning or a related field
- An MBA, CFA or AACI designation is considered an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Yardi is an asset
- Experience with Revenue Management software is an asset
