Maintenance Technician

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Maintenance Technician position at the Gateway Galvanizing plant in Jeffersonville, IN. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will maintain and repair all Galvanizing equipment within the Global Coatings Division.

• Perform light electrical work to repair or maintain company equipment (Single and 3 Phase)
• Install and configure new equipment as well as dismantle and replace defective or old parts and machines
• Plan and manage the repair and maintenance of all equipment (motors, pumps, belts, fans. etc.) and buildings, with heavy emphasis on hoist and bridge crane repair
• Adjust necessary equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation
• Welding and fabrication as needed
• Working knowledge of power tools and hand tools
• Maintain a clean and hazard free work environment to ensure department safety

Required Qualifications

• Three years of previous experience in an Industrial Maintenance position
• Minimum one year experience with welding
• A working knowledge of fabrication and repair of metal structures/components
• A working knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• The ability to demonstrate mechanical/basic electrical knowledge
• The ability to work from manlifts to facilitate repair of bridge crane and/or roof top units (HVAC and fans).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

• An Associate’s or Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field
• Six years of previous experience in an Industrial Maintenance position
• Two years of previous experience operating hand and/or power tools
• Hold a welding certification
• The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
• The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
• Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
