Summary
Prepares payroll records for processing by performing the duties below. Assists employees and refinery HR with questions concerning payroll or company policy.
Responsibilities
* Processes inbound and outbound interface files. * Processes loads for stock options and taxable awards. * Verifies and process off cycle checks/ run payroll journal. * Escheatment verification/reissue. * Batch, enter and verify timesheet data entered into CATS, which includes speaking to employees on a daily basis regarding questions about their timesheets. * Balances the total hours received via email from the refinery timekeepers to the number of hours in CATS. * Assists with the running and distribution of various reports after each payroll run as well as monthly and quarterly. * Prepares and distribute timesheet procedures for all newly hired employees. * Pulls documentation as directed by subpoenas. * Reconciles TALX file * Process various off cycle paychecks. * Coordinates with Valero Claims Management the appropriate reduction from employee paychecks for dollars employees received from workers compensation. * Provides Leave and Disability Administration STL overpayment calculations and adjust taxable earnings when employees or insurance companies refund the company. * Answers walk-in, telephone inquiries, and e-mails. * Prepares monthly Payroll Processing Calendar. * Maintains the Payroll Procedures Manual when procedures are added or changes are made to current procedures
Ideal Candidate
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. * Minimum of three years Payroll experience required. * Able to effectively communicate with all levels of Management required. * Experience with computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and 10-Key preferred. * SAP experience preferred.
