Summary
The Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting Unitrends sales activities in a presales technical role serving both Unitrends inside as well as channel sales representatives and potential customers and partners while acting as the technical liaison representing Unitrends products, development and professional services. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of pre-sales team to compile document generation, proposals, statements of work, and supporting documentation. * Works as part of the Unitrends sales team to formulate winning strategies as it relates to prospect requirements utilizing Unitrends methodologies, technical solutions, education, and services. * Provide technical qualification based on customer assessment distilling discovery into a concise message. * Deliver presentations to prospect technical/management teams to articulate Unitrends Products and Services value proposition through demos conducted via WebEx as well as in person. * Develop strong customer relationships with Unitrends accounts and own technical relationships with technical buyers and partner engineers. * Excellent presentation skills with experience of delivering at C level within customer organization * Functions as sales team liaison to internal Unitrends organizations (Sales, Support, Marketing, Development) as appropriate, to ensure success during sales campaigns and/or to ensure the customer experience is extremely positive. * Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by equipment and Unitrends programs and operations to be performed by personnel. * Conducts studies pertaining to development of new solutions to meet current and projected needs. * Contribute to maintaining the Unitrends demonstration lab used by the Pre-sales and sales teams * Signs off on technical feasibility of Unitrends solutions in customer environment. * Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Position Qualifications:** * Proven experience in a technical pre/post sales role supporting the open systems market place in a vendor or consulting environment. * Enterprise application exposure or knowledge of (Exchange, SQL, Oracle, Sharepoint, etc.) * Proven experience in systems analysis and/or programming required successfully supporting the sales effort in a pre-sales consultative role. * Experience with Salesforce.com desirable * Comprehension of Heterogeneous Operating Environments, (i.e.: UNIX, Linux and Novell, Windows). * Comprehension and experience in virtualized environments and storage networks (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, KVM, etc.) * Comprehension and experience in hyperscale cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.) * Ability to travel up to 30% **Education and Experience:** * Bachelor's degree with emphasis of study in systems analysis and design of software solutions required (Computer Science/Engineering); * 3-7 years’ experience in each of the following areas: multi-host hardware / software platforms, storage subsystems databases, internet architectures, and industry standard application architecture; networking, storage systems, DBMS and/or UNIX or NT platforms; implementing and planning backup/recovery and disaster recovery strategies; solution selling techniques to a diverse audience or equivalent combination of skills, education/training and/or experience.
