Summary
Umbel is seeking a DevOps Engineer to work with our technical team to maintain a highly scalable, cloud based infrastructure. The DevOps Engineer will be tasked with maintaining and monitoring a growing number of Linux Servers hosted on AWS, writing automation scripts, and implementing best practices for configuration management, network security, and source code management. An ideal candidate will be familiar with maintaining the following technologies: Ubuntu, RabbitMQ, Celery, Salt, Python, DynamoDB/MySQL/Cassandra, Django on AWS. In addition, candidate should have experience with one or more common scripting languages (i.e., Python, bash, etc.).

Ideal Candidate
**Required Experience/Skills:** * Linux experience * Working knowledge of Python * Remotely managed Linux environments and virtualization (preferably AWS) * Linux network debugging experience (packet sniffing) * Experience with scripting build and deployment systems utilizing bash (or equivalent) * Saltstack, Chef, Puppet, or any other configuration management tool * Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (DataDog, Nagios. etc.) * Network security and common intrusion techniques (PCI security compliance a plus) * Basic knowledge of “NoSQL”/distributed databases **Desired Experience/Skills:** * Expert experience managing products on the AWS platform * Develop and grow processes to automate application deployment and maintenance of a complex, distributed architecture * Design and implement proactive monitoring to enable visibility and management of health and performance of production systems. * Work with Engineering to create capacity plans to address current and new functionally and includes strategic growth * Plan automated backups and HA configurations * Produce high quality systems documentation Support of Production environment as needed
