Summary
Uber seeks experienced software engineers to help build the tools and platforms necessary to push one of the fastest growing engineering orgs in the world even further. You will be a part of the Infrastructure group on the Aerodrome team, the engineers for the engineers. You will be vital in sustaining Uber’s hypergrowth and your contributions will be important to both your team and all of Uber’s engineers.
Responsibilities
* Build awesome tools for Uber Engineering to make generating and releasing quality code a simple and easy process * Create libraries, automate processes, update testing tools, and improve pre-production environments * Focus on enabling engineers to improve the quality and understand the impact of their changes * Add new functionality to our development and deploy flows
Ideal Candidate
**Qualities we’re looking for:** * You enjoy building tools and environments that empower engineers to do great work. * You can identify emerging patterns and predict the need for new tools, resources, and automation. * You’re a quality czar. You like to go fast, but you also recognize the importance of testing and quality assurance. * You care about writing clear documentation so that other engineers can jump in and get stuff done. * You seek out and follow the best practices for whatever job is at hand. **Skills we’re looking for:** * Proficiency in at least one of these (bonus for more than one): Python, Java, Go * Experience improving code quality through some combination of unit tests, load/performance tests, integration tests, UI tests, Chaos Monkey, dependency testing, and/or monitoring * Ability to identify quality gaps and improve tests, test strategies, and code coverage * Prior experience working in Linux environments * Some knowledge of full stack infrastructure, from front end to back end
