Summary
The Senior IT Project Manager will work as a key member of the Technology Team, dedicated to scoping, planning and executing critical projects and programs. We are seeking someone with a very high level of accountability, integrity, as well as technical, communication, and organizational skills. Experience implementing both technology infrastructure as well as major software applications is critical. This role will interface directly with internal stakeholders, vendors, and executive management.
Responsibilities
**Core Project Management** **Strategy and Portfolio Management** * Develop and drive the project portfolio, as well as hands on ownership of major projects. * Continuously improve project management tool kits and methodologies. Provide leadership and mentoring to other project managers in the organization. * Oversee, develop, and implement procedures for ongoing standardization of project management methodology **Planning** * Define the scope of the project in collaboration with key stakeholders / sponsors, and obtain signed buy off and alignment. * Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the technical and non-technical activities needed to successfully complete the project * Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project * Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities * Review the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required * Determine the objectives and success criteria upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion * Provide leadership in defining, mapping and documenting key requirements and processes relevant to Financial systems and Business Intelligence / reporting **Implementation** * Execute the project according to the project plan and schedule * Manage project budget, project plan/schedule, and resource allocation * Facilitate the definition of requirements. Broker decisions between stakeholders to achieve project goals. * Set up collaboration processes to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented, shared, and secured * Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project in collaboration with the impacted resources and stakeholders * Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project * Review the quality of the work completed based on defined metrics with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards * Define and communicate a change management process for development and implementation of new features, configurations, and functionality **Change Management and Communication** * Drive organizational change, taking full account of obstacles, opposition, and differing stakeholder priorities * Resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas. Develop methods to monitor project progress. * Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly) * Constantly monitor and report on progress of the projects to all stakeholders * Champion for business process improvements **Scope** Working independently, resolves a wide range of diverse problems utilizing personal judgment and experience to develop solutions in a creative manner. Interacts with employees at all levels of the organization and takes personal responsibility for meeting the needs of the customer while demonstrating an understanding of business objectives. Authority to act within defined policies within the area of expertise/knowledge as directed. **Supervision Exercised** None
Ideal Candidate
* At least ten years’ experience in leading projects / teams, with progressively more responsibility * Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business-related discipline * Four years consulting background and/or business analytics highly desired * Understanding of IT architecture, platforms and dependencies. Must have exposure to networking and security relationships to IT Infrastructure skill set
