Summary
Trimont Real Estate Capital NYC provides loan origination, underwriting, construction loan administration and loan servicing for Amalgamated Bank in support of its affordable multifamily lending program. TREC NYC is an affiliate of Trimont Real Estate Advisors.
Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive calling/marketing program to meet target borrowers, promote bank product, and secure loan applications. * Develop, maintain and continually enhance a comprehensive prospect list of target borrowers in the market. * Identify and leverage new market opportunities which leverage platform and bank resources. * Advise and consult with prospective borrowers to deliver optimal loan structures and executions. * Collect and analyze sufficient information to perform/present an initial borrower and project pre-underwriting review/assessment. * Facilitate on-going collection of key information from borrower to support underwriting, loan approval and closing processes. * Assist underwriters with market, project, borrower and subsidy knowledge. * Interact directly with bank officers to enhance TREC working relationship, secure needed information, maintain knowledge, coordinate efforts, and facilitate approvals and closings. * Maintain regular contact with key partners (e.g. NYC HCD, take-out lenders, etc.) to ensure up-to-date knowledge of programs and key requirements. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor activity and lending programs, and affordable multifamily housing market dynamics. * Perform other duties related to the origination of loans and operation of the business as management may assign.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors Degree. (Real estate/finance major and/or MBA preferred). * 15+ years of progressive commercial RE loan origination/lending experience. * Demonstrated knowledge of affordable multifamily housing property, subsidies and financing. * Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills. * Demonstrated familiarity with loan underwriting and loan closing processes. * Demonstrated ability to work in a highly self-directed, time sensitive environment with defined processes. * Comfortable in multi-task environment associated with a small start-up organization. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Excellent analytic and organization skills; strong attention to detail, * Proficient with standard office desktop software (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.).
