Summary
The position is responsible for developing and implementing an approved plan for achieving sales and profit objectives for the assigned region. Coordinate with Auto Aftermarket Team Leads to drive programs to all prospects, group members, and current customers while attaining profitable growth. Manage and support a team of manufacturers’ representatives contracted to promote and sell our products and ensure proper representation to our customers. Train, develop and motivate independent representatives in their assigned territories to grow Timken product sales at the distributor level and to deliver the Timken value proposition at the professional installer. Effectively interpret, communicate and implement company policies, procedures, priorities and programs. Solicit input from all representatives to generate and/or enhance selling and marketing programs and business planning efforts. This position is responsible for managing each step in the channel – installer, jobber, distributor, buying groups and representatives/agents.
Responsibilities
* Annually achieve sales and profit objectives for the specific sales region. * Submit and maintain travel, entertainment, training and commission budgets in a timely manner. Achieve business cost objectives within these budget limits. * Increase the market penetration for all Timken Aftermarket products in the channel. * Work with contracted independent sales representatives in conjunction with our current customers and prospects to develop annual business plan which accurately reflects customer and AAM expectations as well as sales objectives and profit objectives. * Prioritize Voice of the Customer issues (Needs vs. Wants) to position Timken products and services in an advantageous position versus the competition. * CRM will be used to maintain customer data, opportunity pipeline, competitive information etc. * Collaborate with Marketing and Product management to develop, evaluate and implement growth opportunities including market share gains and new products and services. * Plan, coordinate and participate in industry/distributor and installer events.
Ideal Candidate
**Technical & Functional Skills** * The candidate must have experience evaluating and determining specific customer needs; translate and quantify how our solution provides value. * Experience developing relationships at all levels and functions of an organization both internal and external. * An understanding of the technical aspects of automotive components with respect to the performance of bearings and seals. **Basic Qualifications** * Minimum: Associate Degree in Business, Marketing or a Technical Field & 5 years of Automotive Aftermarket experience * Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Marketing or Business & 10 years of Automotive Aftermarket experience
