Summary
The Standard is looking for a passionate and driven individual to lead the Benefits and Contact Center quality organization. This organization is responsible for the auditing and analyzing of core processes to provide information toward continuously improving business operations and informing department strategy. In addition, this organization assists department leadership to ensure appropriate control structures exist related to financial reporting, safeguarding of assets, compliance with laws and regulations, and the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
Responsibilities
* Lead an organization that currently includes 2 managers and 18 individual contributors. This role will have approximately 8 direct reports. * Analyze business needs / trends (i.e. environment, legal, competitors, etc.) along with internal business trend data and use such information to inform the direction and strategy for the business. * Deliver trends, root cause analysis and recommendations to business leaders. Own and drive the development of the change plan. * Manage the planning and execution of the department’s auditing function, which includes audits on operational processes / procedures, regulatory and compliance processes / procedures (including financial controls), state market conduct exams, and other audits identified to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency. * Provide leadership and oversight for some key department reporting and metrics. * Participate in the continuous improvement of processes and process auditing. * Manage the work environment by identifying workforce needs and ensuring alignment with manager expectations, values and vision. * Select, develop, motivate, and provide performance feedback to direct reports.

If you’re a good candidate, you will: * Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or a related field. * Have 4 – 7 years of progressive experience in quality assurance and / or relevant business experience. * Have a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience. * Build trust and collaborate effectively with all levels of employees (frontline to senior leaders) and other key partners (internal audit, independent auditors, etc.). * Effectively draw conclusions from data and highlight patterns or trends. * Bring good ideas to the table with regards to auditing techniques and sampling methodologies. * Help leaders make balanced and fully informed decisions. * Feel comfortable challenging leaders to ensure they are considering all perspectives before making decisions. **Who We Really Want** If you can check all of the boxes above and still want to stand out from the crowd, our ideal candidate will also have: * The ability to develop a strategic plan and empower their organization to deliver on it. * Experience using problem-solving or continuous improvement methodologies. * Prior experience in managing financial controls. * Knowledge of life and disability claim administration systems and processes. * Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations affecting claim administration, such as Fair Claim Settlement Practices Act, Department of Labor and ERISA.
