Assistant Actuary

M Financial was established with a new distribution network of entrepreneurial Member Firms. Working together with select carriers, we created better products for affluent clients and distributed them through this exclusive network of Member Firms.

In this role, you will support the Reinsurance team in its quarterly and annual financial reporting responsibilities. This will include validating and importing partner insurance carrier into the team’s reporting database, performing research and analysis on quarterly results, and working with MFH Internal Audit and external auditors. You will also work with MFH’s Product Development team to develop models and financial projections of new product offerings, and answer team questions. In addition, you will perform analysis and testing on newly developed products, and perform financial projections on partner reinsurance company proposed costs. Modeling of financial projections will be an area of focus for this position, including maintaining and upgrading corporate models, validating pricing models, and building inforce. In addition, duties will involve administration of inforce reinsured policy data, maintaining the administration system by performing regular updates, and experience study analysis.

* Bachelor’s degree * Minimum of five years of directly-related, progressively-responsible work experience. * Pre-ASA to new FSA preferred * Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated public speaking experience; demonstrated ability to translate technical material into user-friendly communications. * Extensive knowledge of life insurance products, including experience with life insurance valuation and profitability analysis. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Member Firms, Carriers, and M Team Members. * Well-developed computer skills, including use of spreadsheets, databases (SQL is preferred) and actuarial modeling software (ALFA experience is preferred.) * Ability to handle multiple, complex projects and deadlines simultaneously.
