Summary
This position reports directly to the Vice President and will lead all key financial reporting responsibilities for the company’s assumed reinsurance business. The role will consist of both controllership and financial planning & analysis duties. The candidate should be able to, through strong organizational skills, handle increasing levels of responsibility and demonstrate characteristics of potential for future development opportunities
Responsibilities
* Global assumed reinsurance quarterly underwriting results and analysis for internal and external reporting on a US GAAP, Statutory and Management reporting basis. * Global assumed reinsurance quarterly business division memo for senior management. * Global assumed reinsurance business plans and forecasts. * U.S. assumed reinsurance, review and sign off: * Accounting statements to ensure compliance with contract terms * Claims/premium fund accounting * Profit & sliding scale commission calculations * Monthly and quarterly assumed reinsurance journal entries * Reconciliations between GL and sub-ledger. * Supervise and mentor 1 staff accountant.
Ideal Candidate
* BS in Accounting w/ CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA certification. * 6 to 10 years of experience in assumed reinsurance. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.). * Experience with URS System a plus. * Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus. * Some Domestic and International Travel. * Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. * Excellent business writing skills. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. * Strong organizational skills. * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/assignments. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, rapid change environment.
