Data Analyst

Team Focus Insurance Group has been serving the property and casualty insurance industry for seven decades. We trace our roots back to 1946 when MacNeill Group was founded as Frank R. MacNeill and Son.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide expertise to organize, analyze and report on the data contained in the various data stores maintained by the Company.

This involves four primary roles: * Working with Business Analysts to understand the objective of the desired data analysis and apply business and database analysis skills to gain deep understanding of client needs to aid in the definition and creation of solutions that meet the needs of clients. * Achieving the desired analysis by the extraction of data from various data stores using SQL and other reporting tools as determined by the Company. * Presenting the analysis to end users, often using simple statistics; and * Acting as a client point of contact for database analysis, development projects and tasks. To meet the primary functions of the position, the Data Analyst will be responsible for the following job duties: * Design, develop and deploy both one time and continuous production data analysis processes that include SQL queries, tables, reporting, Business Intelligence Tools and ETL functions. * Develop custom database objects, stored procedures, functions, and T-SQL * Work closely with quality assurance processes as they relate to data analysis processes and code releases. * Maintain existing data analysis processes as changes are made to data store designs and documentation on data analysis processes and associated activities. * Support Company staff in their triage of production issues and communicate with business stakeholders on the status of data analysis projects in process and any open production issues and their resolution.

Must be flexible and have the ability to work under tight deadlines and be able to deliver completed work on time and with accuracy. * Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong listening skills. **Candidate Qualifications and Experience:** * Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field required * 3-5 years of professional data analysis experience in a Software Development environment required * Working knowledge of insurance business practices preferred; previous industry experience highly desired * Demonstrated knowledge in basic business statistical analysis such as percentages, averages, and standard deviations. * Proficiency working with reporting and Business Intelligence tools including the ability to understand and produce tabular reports, bar graphs, line graphs and pie charts. * Proven experience and proficiency in the following tools: * Microsoft SQL versions 2005, 2008, 2012 and 2014, Microsoft Certification a plus * SQL queries and related tools such as SQL functions and creation of temporary tables * DB2 and the ability to work with SQL Server and Sybase * Design and implement SSIS packages and other ETL processes * Write reports in a Microsoft SSRS/SSIS environment with a focus in a multi-user Windows environment * Administer and develop solutions for SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) * SQL RedGate tools * Administering and developing SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) * .Net development, Cognos and InfoMaker experience a plus
