Summary
Perform laboratory chemical analysis to support production. This includes analysis of raw materials, process intermediates, agricultural formulations and environmental samples. The test methods, in most part, are established and routine. On occasion, troubleshoot and make recommendations on solving batch formulation quality issues based on Syngenta manufacturing and quality control specifications or government policies. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of GC, HPLC, and UHPLC instrumentation. Incumbents will be required to demonstrate proficiency in instrument use and maintenance by satisfactory completion of a comprehensive instrument training matrix. New hires will be expected to demonstrate proficiency within 1 year of hire. This is an entry level laboratory position and will take direction from the QA Lab Manager or the Group Leader. Shift work is required.
Responsibilities
* Provide analytical data and support Operation's units to ensure efficient operation and production of quality products. * Provide accurate, timely and defensible data to Operation's units and/or regulatory agencies. * Ensure that all reported data are produced following established SOP's and QA/QC criteria. * Perform preventative maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment as directed. * Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of analytical instrumentation (GC, HPLC, UHPLC). * Maintain retention sample storage area. * Assist in general housekeeping for the lab including proper disposal of chemicals. * Perform analysis and record keeping required for Plant compliance with local permits for waste, waste water and environmental reporting. * Follow all safety and environmental procedures to eliminate or minimize incidents. * Report non-conformances according to established procedures and criteria, and assists in corrective action where appropriate. * Participate in internal quality audits as scheduled or as needed.
