Our Company
According to the CDC every year in the US, over 2 million people get an infection after they are admitted to a hospital, of which 100,000 are fatal. This is more deaths than those that occur from AIDS, breast cancer and car accidents combined, every single year. With an average treatment cost of an HAI at $16,000, the direct medical cost of this challenge are estimated at $32 billion. Research shows that up to 70% of these infections are preventable through increased hand hygiene, yet on average US hospitals have a 40% compliance rate with guidelines; meaning that our staffs are sanitizing their hands less than half the time they are supposed to. Furthermore, in most hospitals today, hand hygiene performance is still monitored manually. Nurses are required to observe their peers and record compliance rates with pen and paper, transcribe it to and excel sheet which is then compiled into a report. This data is expensive, inaccurate and most importantly not actionable.Skills We're Looking For
