Responsibilities
  • Designs and implements solutions based upon defined systems requirements
  • Acts as key solutions designer in development of software products
  • Works with systems and business analysis functions to interpret business requirements into viable technology solutions
  • Provides estimates on time and work scope to supervisor or Agile team
  • Works with team using Agile software development process to drive the development direction that meets the requirements
  • Provides technical specifications to ensure technical writing documentation reflects functionality
  • Interprets product specifications to development team to ensure understanding for coding activity
  • Researches and develops new technologies that are appropriate for the defined product direction
  • Researches and develops the software functionality using industry standards
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is required.
  • Strong understanding of web development.
  • 1+ Years practical (hands-on) experience with J2EE Web applications development
  • Strong understanding of best practices around website security.
  • Strong knowledge of web server and application server capabilities and configuration.
  • Strong understanding of deployment (ANT, Maven, Jenkins) and version control technologies (SVN).
  • Strong understanding of development methodologies such as Agile or SCRUM development.
  • Desire to learn new skills and technologies relating to web base platforms
  • Innovative thinking to solve challenging problems.
  • Results oriented with an ability to work in team and individual contributor work environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong OO architecture, design and programming skills.
  • Strong understanding of patterns and best practices.
  • Strong ability to decompose a broad level business requirement into technical implementation.
  • Ability to mentor and guide development team members.
  • Strong organization skills with good interpersonal skills and a customer service oriented attitude.
