Summary
Seismic Games is looking for an experienced Senior Animator to help create the next generation of mobile games. We are bringing together a best-of-class team to tackle an array of differentiated, interesting mobile games. Our creative department and executive management have long, significant experience delivering well-reviewed AAA+ titles in the PC and console markets and are bringing that experience into the mobile gaming space.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Art, Engineering and Design teams to define animation style. * Create compelling character performances, utilizing both key framed and motion capture techniques, to compliment the game design and promote the artistic vision of the game as a whole. * Work with the Art Director and Animation team to establish methods to improve the production pipeline, tools and systems that will benefit the integrity of the animation for the studio. * Clearly communicate updates and concerns in a timely manner to the Production team.
Ideal Candidate
* Expert knowledge of classical animation principles, including timing, anticipation, follow through, exaggeration and classic squash and stretch. * Excellent understanding of cinematic sequence fundamentals – camera movement, staging and general storytelling techniques. * Solid understanding of game animation pipelines. * Good communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills. * Works under minimal direction to determine and develop approach to solutions. * Self driven – actively improves skill set and abilities by keeping aware of industry trends and techniques, evaluating competitive products, learning new software packages. * The capability to take something from rough key frames to a polished completion . * Have shipped 3-5 AAA titles. * B.A. in fine arts or relevant curriculum, or equivalent skillset. * Experience with producing animations for combat and melee style sequences. * Expertise in working with motion capture data is a plus, including proficiency in Maya, Motion Builder, and motion capture editing, and experience with both body and facial performance capture pipelines. * Knowledge of scripting in Maya and Python would be a plus. * Unity experience is a plus.
