Satellite Healthcare, Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors that approves policies and procedures and decides the future direction of the company. Satellite Healthcare, as a not-for-profit company, is managed very efficiently. Income above operating expenses is used for patient services, research, improving existing centers, and donations to local organizations and the National Kidney Foundation. In 2003, Satellite Healthcare established a service brand called Satellite WellBound. WellBound centers focus on education, personalized training and support for patients performing dialysis at home. WellBound also provides pre-dialysis patient wellness education programs that can help prevent or slow the progression of early stage CKD.
