Summary
The Enterprise Design Engineer (EDE) serves as the subject matter expert and owns the pre-sales design efforts for PS Managed Device Service opportunities within their aligned verticals that may include highly complex and/or international 5th floor engagements. The EDE is responsible to gain an in-depth understanding of the customer's business and technology requirements, develop technical & functional design documentation and develop compelling business solutions that meet the client's needs and achieves their desired business outcomes. For opportunities that extend OUS, the EDE is responsible to coordinate both inbound and outbound design activities and manage them through the Global Services & Technology Process. The EDE supports Voice of the Customer (VOC) initiatives that are requested from Ricoh Company Limited's marketing & engineering groups and provides VOC feedback to RCL & Product Marketing. The EDE must possess and demonstrate a high degree of business acumen, technical expertise and highly effective written and formal presentation skills.
Responsibilities
* Supports aligned vertical sales teams as Ricoh PS Managed Device Service solutions subject matter expert while adhering to the Services Engagement process to provide presales support that meet or exceed services revenue targets and metric objectives. * Responsible for working with aligned vertical sales channel to design Ricoh, Premier and Specialty Solutions offerings through the analysis of customer's business and technology requirements then designing tailored solutions (often complex) that fit individual customer needs, can be installed by our implementation teams and supported by our technology services support team. * Partners with vertical sales management teams and other constituents throughout Ricoh to promote the Professional Services strategy and manage the product portfolio. * Teams with vertical sales teams to provide solution presentations, demonstrations, proof of concepts (without install assistance), internal trainings, and solution configuration development related to Ricoh's PS Managed Device Service (MDS) offerings. * Applies a consultative approach in gaining knowledge of customer business & IT challenges as aligned to the Managed Device Services portfolio offerings for their aligned vertical. * Establish and maintain key technical relationships within aligned vertical accounts, product marketing, vendor partners, the Americas Technology Center, and Ricoh Company Limited. * Manages client communications and expectations from the design cycle through implementation. * Hosts/facilitates/participates in Preliminary Design and Fit & Feasibility reviews. * Develops functional and technical design documentation and creates Statements of Work (SOW) as part of the business/technology solutions within the aligned vertical as it relates to scan & capture, printer/copier management & security and output management technologies within the approved portfolio. * Captures Voice of the Customer feedback for future product enhancements, customizations, and customer satisfaction. * Manages the Global Services & Technology Process (GSTP), for inbound / outbound international customer requirements and Managed Device Service opportunities. * Works closely with the implementation team in developing complex designs for MDS opportunities and utilizes the engagement process to obtain additional resources when necessary.
Ideal Candidate
* A four year College degree (computer science, information systems, engineering) or equivalent experience in a related field required. * Minimum of 5 years experience in complex software solutions design, configuration or implementations. At least 3 years sales or presales support and/or industry related experience. * Must have a unique ability that combines Salesmanship combined with excellent technology skills that promotes strong relationship building to become the customer's trusted advisor. * Experience calling on a variety of accounts including Global or large/major Commercial accounts with a specialty in one of the following verticals: Healthcare, Legal, Higher Education, or Public Sector (i.e. Federal, State, Municipalities). * Experience working within a team selling environment, preferably Software & Services. * Industry certifications such as MCSE, MCP, CDIA+, CISSP, Security+ and CCNA certifications are preferred.
