* Developing highly-scalable web applications with a focus on security * Becoming a Scala web framework expert using Play Framework * Building scalable services through Service Oriented Architecture * Integrating with external APIs to customize a user’s experience

**Here's what you need:** * 5+ years of real industry experience with Java or C# * 3+ years of real industry experience working with NoSQL or RDBMS databases * Expert-level design experience, including knowledge of common design patterns and relevant libraries * Familiarity with Scala, or a strong interest to learn * Practical experience using source code control systems, especially Git * Strong analytical skills and the ability to design and document well-architected systems * B.S. Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent **And for bonus points:** * Hands-on experience using Scala with the Lift framework * Experience building versioned, integrated APIs in a distributed-service architecture * You understand the ins and outs of document design with MongoDB * Experience with Amazon Web Services * Familiarity with various deployment tools such as Chef, Mesos, or Ansible * Familiarity with the SCRUM SDLC
