Summary
Quidel is searching for a customer focused Technical Support Specialist to work at our new corporate headquarters in the Carmel Valley area of San Diego.
Responsibilities
* Responds to global technical support inquires and customer complaints * Learns fundamentals and demonstrates a conceptual understanding of technical product aspects (lateral flow, immunoassay, PCR, nucleic acid testing, etc.) as well as the disease state/processes * Provides technical expertise as required (training, field work, trade shows, new product launches, etc.) * Provides concise correspondence of investigative results to customers * Recognizes recurring issues and take action towards resolutions or escalates. * Compiles and analyzes customer service data * Maintains product references and bibliographies * Updates technical documents
Ideal Candidate
* BS/BA in Life Sciences, or equivalent experience * 2-5 years of work experience in biotech or related industry, preferably in a Technical Support related role. * Strong preference to those who have former Med Tech experience. * Strong technical skills regarding principles of product technology and disease processes as they relate to our products. * Excellent communication (speaking and listening) and interpersonal skills. * Excellent telephone skills / phone manner. * Excellent organizational/time management skills. * Excellent follow up skills. * Good understanding of computer skills. Must be able to quickly learn new programs and/or modifications to the existing system. * Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude. * Attention to detail. * Ability to handle highly confidential subject matter. * Ability to accept direction and constructive criticism. * Ability to handle time sensitive projects with short notice * Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
