Summary
To execute the Banquet Stewarding department responsibilities and supervise interdepartmental communication with Catering, Banquet Beverage, Banquet Service, Banquet Set-Up, and Culinary. Supervise Banquet Steward personnel to maintain the high standards of the Beau Rivage.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for employees accomplishing job requirements of the department. * Assist the Executive Steward, Director of Catering, Banquetss and Conference Services in all phases of the department requirements. * Work closely with the Catering, Banquet Beverage, Banquet Service, Banquet Set-Up, and Culinary in order to assure quick and efficient execution of Banquet functions. * Conduct training of all department personnel. * Responsible for walk through inspections of all Banquet areas. * Responsible for conducting monthly inventories, (daily usage and specialty items) maintaining established pars and ordering necessary equipment. * Responsible for overseeing staffing levels, schedules, as well as hiring employees. * Attend all meetings as directed. * Communicate with all employee relation issues, paperwork consisting of records, disciplinary situations, and miscellaneous matters. * Commuicate to employees' policies, procedures, standards and expectations. * Ensure all proper health and fire code requirements are communicated to employees and maintained.
Ideal Candidate
* Prior experience consisting of business management, record keeping, purchasing basics, knowledge of kitchen and dish machines, inventory control, fire safety, and chemical awareness programs. * Abililty to be flexible, handle multiple tasks, and is observant * Ability to use basic office equipment. * Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and familiar with PowerPoint. * Must possess excellent communication and people skills. * Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English. **Supervisory Responsibilities:** Banquet Utility Supervisor, Lead Banquet Utility Porter, Banquet Utility Porter **Education and/or Experience:** * Associates degree and six (6) years fast paced, banquet service experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. **Physical Demand:** * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing, walking, listening, using computer, telephone, and speaking. * Frequently walking distances of 10 to 30 ft., between various areas of department. Frequently walking distances up to 1000 ft. * Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and writing, typing on computer keyboard. * Occasionally carrying, pushing, pulling up to 1200 lbs with assistance.
